Solvent Based Ink
Digital
  • Hard photopolymer flexo plate with inherent flat top dots
  • Easy creation of flat top dots with your standard solvent processing equipment
  • Developed especially for the flexible packaging market where solvent-based inks are widespread
  • Special textured plate surface that eliminates the need of surface screening to achieve a good ink laydown in print

Benefits

Plate characteristics

  • Hard photopolymer flexo plate with inherent flat top dots
  • Easy creation of flat top dots with your standard solvent processing equipment
  • Developed especially for the flexible packaging market and solvent-based inks
  • Special textured plate surface that eliminates the need of surface screening to achieve a good ink laydown in print

Convincing print results

  • Smooth, homogenous solids, uniform vignettes and soft fade-outs.
  • Significant improvement of the typical trail edge void effect.
  • Even ink laydown and increased solid ink density.
  • High print resolution – precise reproduction of fine elements (e.g. first stable tonal value of 1.6% at 149 lpi).
  • Outstanding register accuracy and consistency in print enables perfect suitability for ECG (Expanded color gamut) printing.

Simplify prepress and plate making

  • Reduce cost, save time: FTD out of the Box with special surface roughness, no additional equipment or any consumables required.
  • Simple & Easy creation of flat top dots with your standard solvent processing equipment.

Improve productivity and consistency

  • Less dot gain variation – on press due to flat top dot plate characteristic.
  • Ready to print quickly, reduced start-up time and waste.
  • High wear resistance supports longer, more consistent print runs.

Suitable equipment

The nyloflex® FTF Digital can be processed with nyloflex® processing equipment and all similar devices and can be used with all laser systems suitable for imaging flexo printing plates.

Printing inks

Suitable for all solvent based printing inks and conditionally suitable for water based and UV inks.4 (ethyl acetate content preferably below 15%, ketone content preferably below 5 %).

Washout solvents

Especially good results are achieved with nylosolv® washout solvents. nylosolv® can be distilled and reused.

Processing information

A detailed description of the imaging, exposure and finishing steps, as well as detailed information about handling and storing, can be found in the nyloflex® User Guide.

Certification

XSYS printing plates are produced at Willstätt production site, which is certified according to international standards for quality management (DIN EN ISO 9001:2015), environmental management (DIN EN ISO14001:2015) and energy management (DIN EN ISO 50001:2018).
