For its product development and benchmarking activities XSYS is looking for a new member of its Application Technology team. The job is located at XSYS’ newly established Innovation Center in Willstätt.
As Application Specialist you support R&D projects related to flexo and letterpress printing plates with plate application tests aiming at optimizing the plate processing and printing performance. You are further testing plate processing equipment under development to give feedback to the R&D department with respect to equipment performance and user-friendliness.
Your responsibilities comprise:
• planning and conducting experiments to systematically evaluate the performance of a printing plate including plate processing, physical and optical evaluation of the cliché and evaluation of print results
• literature research
• creating technical reports and presentations to summarise and present project results and conclusions in German and English
• contributing to patent applications
• occasionally supporting early product tests at customer premises
• closely collaborating with R&D, Technical Service, QC, Product Management and Sales
Qualification Profile:
• University (of applied science) degree in print technology or a comparable education or equivalent professional experience
• expertise in pre-press and printing technologies (preferably flexo printing and letterpress printing)
• Team player with strong interpersonal skills
• Passion for technology; desire to learn new things
• Willingness to travel occasionally
• Well-developed communication and language skills – English and German; additional languages are beneficial
• Experience with standard MS Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required; Lotus Notes, SAP ArtPro, FlexRip or Adobe CS beneficial
